Today is (was) Baylee's birthday. Happy birthday, Baylee!

I'm kind of tired.

Yesterday I watched Akira with my dad. That's an interesting movie, that one. I liked it.

I've bought the Gorillaz DVD, with the 4 videos and lots of other stuff. Storyboards, "live" stuff, a documentary called Charts of Darkness, semi-videos to the other songs on the first cd... It's pretty neat. I dunno, I'll probably get bored with it pretty quickly, but that's ok.

I really need to start working on this school stuff. I'm just going to leave most of it till the end of the summer and then I'll be totally stressed by the time school rolls around. Blech. I've done a little bit, but not near as much as I should have done by now.

Next week I'm going to be really busy. Monday there's Baylee's party (I think), Tuesday I have a dentist appointment, Wednesday I was going to hang out with Nikki, and Thursday, Saturday and Sunday I'm doing the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. The only day I'm not doing anything is Friday, and I'll probably just use the time to keel over, or something.

Well, pages 49 and 51 seem to be missing. Good thing I'm not a sorcerer.

Yesterday Nikki came over (yay!) and to celebrate the occasion, after getting bored of playing DOA3, we went and bought DOA: volleyball, or whatever the heck it's called. You can tell that it's targeted toward teenage boys, what with all the skimpy swimsuits and if you go to a location by yourself, you just lay about. "Oh, I'm all alone... *stretch*" Yeah... But anyway, it's really fun for girls too, at least, I think it should be. You get to buy swimsuits, play volleyball, buy accessories, and there's a hopping game to get money if you suck at volleyball and no one wants to play with you because they all hate you. Not speaking from experience, of course. *cough*

Apparently my permit expired in march so today me and mom are going to the DMV to renew it. <sarcasm> Joy. Standing in line for hours. I can hardly wait. </sarcasm>

But, anyways. So far my summer has been much more interesting than any other I can remember. Even the summer when we went to Disney World. Gasp!

Again, a change in the layout, since I've already gotten sick of green and am now ready to go back to black. Black, the color of darkness... Muahahaha!
Well, today was interesting.

D&D is going to be so fun, but now my mom's sad because she wants to play and she can't.

I've got all the books I need for my history IA, as long as I don't get rid of the ones I have. They're all about china and russia and border disputes. Should be interesting, at least, as much as you'd expect from a history paper...

I think I now know the reason my dad got less picky in college, it wasn't because he had to buy everything he ate - it was because he was around his peers when he ate it. At least, that's mum's theory, and I agree with it.

I hope when I get a car of my own that I never, ever lock my keys in the car.

Kinko's is good but if you're trying to make copies of 300 page long books, don't. It's expensive. 9 cents per sheet.

Mum made another twinkie tiramisu. It's good.

current mp3: mi me rotai kanis - antonis remos

I seem to be overly hyper today. Does this mean something?

I finished Order of the Phoenix. Not bad. Though I kept thinking Harry was acting a bit... annoying at certain points. At some points I shouted mentally, "Listen to Hermione, you moron!" Yeah, I thought I was supposed to not do that, yell at the main character for being an idiot. Maybe. I dunno.

I need to drive more. I haven't driven for at least 3 months, or something. Hopefully I'll get to do some on wednesday.

We installed a microwave/convection oven today. Only the guy showed up 2 hours and 40 minutes later than he was supposed to. It was somewhat annoying. It's always annoying when you make appointments with repairmen or installers or things like that, and then they show up 3 hours after they're supposed to and your whole day's screwed up. Why can't they just tell you at the outset that they'll come 3 hours late and spare you the trouble of sticking around for them? You could do stuff instead, go buy groceries, whatever.

As further proof that I like nothing better than frittering my time away on useless pursuits... the slightly changed layout! Behold.
I'm tired, even though I slept until 10.

Nikki's back.

I'm sad. I wanted to play Sam & Max Hit the Road, but apparently my computer's too advanced. Sniff. Whatever happened to the good old computer games of yore! Er, is yore a word?

current mp3: a rush of blood to the head - coldplay

We went to X-2. It was good. I liked it.

Tomorrow I'll go to the training thing for the cherry creek arts festival.

I hope this will be a good summer.

I'm going to bed.

current mp3: dear claudia - southFM

I missed my music a lot on the trip. I shoulda brought it with me.

Today felt like the first day of summer. Being on the trip meant being on a schedule, doing what other people planned out for me. Now, it's just me doing whatever. Time doesn't really mean anything, it just stretches on. That's what summer means to me, sometimes. Just endless time stretching into infinity... Maybe.

Well, anyways, tomorrow will be another nothing day but on saturday I'm gonna try to do that training thing for the cherry creek arts festival (thank you baylee!). If I get back early enough I might go to the picture-swapping party at Jessica's... but the only point of me going would be to chat and mooch off other people's pictures. Eh, I can mooch later. I've never been big on socializing.

Anyways, that's that. I don't know what we're doing on Sunday. But on Monday my schedule begins. I "work" from 9-12 and 1-3. Everyday during worktime, I can either clean, help with chores or around the house, cook, work on making things for my room (but no planning, I have to do that on my "goof-off" time), walk with my mom, drive, or work on school stuff (like CAS, the EE, and the IAs). Hopefully being on a semi-schedule will prevent my mom from throttling me and help me to actually get some stuff done.

I find it odd that I can sleep 14 hours one night and 5 hours the next. When I go to bed at the same time both nights...

Well, I'm off to bed, earlier this time, so hopefully I can get back into the swing of things. Or whatever.

So, I'm back. It's been a while. I know everyone who went on the trip a little bit better than I did before. I took 200 pictures in Italy and left them all in Greece. I saw the David, the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel. I went to a club. I broke curfew, and I'm getting suspended. I met kids from Ohio who I didn't know before and may never see again. I met kids from Smoky who I didn't know before and may see again many times. I roomed with Sophia (Sorphie) and Victoria. I roomed with Katie during the cruise. I read 550 pages. I didn't open cien años. I lost my acne medication. I washed my jeans once and let them dry on the balcony. I loved Italian food. I didn't love Greek food. I left with 700 dollars. I came back with 550. I spent 450. I spent 100 on gifts. I spent 250 on myself. I lost 100. I think I was pickpocketed.

The people who went with me:

  • Alex - Got sunburned really badly. Sophomore. Lisps.
  • Meghan - Italian and Irish. Dad is VP of huge company. Gets free oranges from Sunkist. Travels a lot.
  • Courtney - Going out with Hugh. Got him a teddy bear. Laughs a lot.
  • Eddie - Catholic, but his dad's an atheist. Surrounded by women.
  • Jillian - Giggly. Has "international signs". Dating Mike. Used to date Greg. Called Mike "Greg" multiple times.
  • Katie - Dating Corbin, who is Mormon. Looks bitchy because she holds her neck straight. Gets free massages because of car accident.
  • Lisa - Sophomore. Had 16th birthday during trip. Very giggly.
  • Molly - Was in my science class. Got hair cut on trip. Sweet. More sane than most.
  • Megan - Loves jackets. Loves boyfriend. Thinks boys can be total idiots. Wears jeans to formal dinners.
  • Jessica - Never in IB, but was in Riedmiller's class 9th grade because it was "advanced english". Outgoing. Kept a journal, but wrote less than Katie.
  • Katie - Kept a journal and wrote a ton. Giggly. Enjoyed speaking in an English accent.
  • Yolanda - Sophomore. Used to speak Castilian spanish, but forgot it. Cheerful.
  • Kamran - Got pulled by customs because of his looks, which pissed him off. Sophomore. "Shut up or I'll come in your mouth!"
  • Sophia - Doesn't get very emotional. Dad lives in Texas. Got two henna tattoos, one on her leg, and one on her back.
  • Victoria - Very thin. Wants to be a doctor when she's older. Good singer. Likes her lizard henna tattoo.
  • Greg - Smokes pot. Player. Hangs out with Jillian.
  • Molly - Jewish. Innocent. Sophomore. Sweet.

I had fun. At the end, I really wanted to come home. When I'm older, I'll come back to Florence. And hopefully I won't lose my camera.

Wednesday, June 04, 2003

Well, I'm leaving tomorrow at 7:00 am.

If you want me to email you, or whatever, send me an email at ekino_kirai@yahoo.com. So that I know what your email address is, or whatever, and so that I know you want me to email you...

I will try to get people souvenirs.

Nikki, I will miss you. Though I hope you know that without me telling you.

As to the rest of ya: if you're usually nice to me, I will miss you. If you are mean and spiteful I may not. :)

Au revoir!

europe countdown: 3 days

Aieee. The europe trip looms... It looms, I say!

Hmmm. Technically, they're not frames, they're CSS. But, yeah. I don't know, I could get rid of them. I should make a poll and then you can all vote! All *cough* two of you. No, wait, was it three?

No more science. I'm getting a C, but oh well. Too lazy to do any more labs. Perhaps next year I'll do better.

I'm still debating whether or not I want to take the science exam tomorrow... or wednesday. Tomorrow... or wednesday. Tomorrow... or -

Well, I'm just going to ask tomorrow if it kills me and I don't care as much about the other two.

My TOK essay sucks. Oh well.

I'll bring my lollies tomorrow. Maybe. Yeah.

I gave Parsons the dry erase markers and there was much larking about and sniffing the markers. Hooray for chocomint and cherry! Blueberry and apple aren't my personal favorite flavors, so I can't recommend them as strongly.

I'm gonna die in Europe! I can feel it! My demise approaches! That's right! And all that will be left is the stench of death! That's right! The stench, I say!

Meh, tomorrow's the last day of school, and the last day I'll see anybody, and it makes me sad.

Sunday, June 01, 2003

Oh, and, new layout, by the way. Tell me what you think.
europe countdown: 4 days

Hmmm... moving the receiver on my wireless card seems to have improved my internet access. *evil cackle*

Now for something completely different. Maybe.

I am not liking this water drainage lab. Not at all. I didn't do the lab in class. But I figured I'd just do it home, right? So, we don't have any styrofoam or plastic cans. So I found some tin cans in the basement. They're gonna be really hard to cut holes in. I'll have to find a can opener, or something, but how do I make a hole in it? And, you know, we don't have a graduated cylinder. We have some measuring cups which are in british units and not SI units... And, I guess I could search around for a compass to draw the holes with. And a marker to draw marks. And get my crappy timer to time it all. And go do it in my bathroom upstairs. At ten at night. But, oh, god, I don't want to! Meh. Oh, well, I did the temperature lab and the mass lab, albeit crappily, so that works, but I have this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach telling me that this stupid water lab is required for IB and that if I don't do it, I'm screwed... And yet, I still don't want to do it. Meh.

Well, I wrote most of my TOK essay which, just because of what happened on Friday, I wrote completely on how emotion and caring is the key to ethics. Ha! The logic probably sucks though, and it's 1300 words, but, meh. I'd like to rewrite it tomorrow but I don't know if I will.

School is almost over! AIEEE!
