Ah, yes. Haven't been blogging much recently. Eh heh. Being grounded does that. No web access and no phones (until yesterday afternoon, basically). I probably won't be allowed online on weekdays anymore (unless it's for homework or something) so I'm not going to blog as much, certainly.

Today was awesome. Mad love for all those I talked to today. Yes, even Eric's parents, and Chaffin's dad and siblings. They're awesome too. I don't think I talked to the blockbuster guy so I'm not counting him.

Hopefully I'll do better on the Hamlet test on tuesday. I've thought of some interesting things to say about the themes and symbolism and such.

Go is really fun. Everyone should play that game. Thanks to Eric, I actually won. MWAHAHA! I'll have to try again sometime without his help. Civilizations is also fun. Again, with help, but very cool. I beat France! Take that!

Ooo, and I can kinda do a 5x5 rubik's cube, thanks to Chaffin. But, man, I still suck at it. Those things confuse me.

Also mad love goes out to Joel and Matt. They made friday quite interesting, and otherwise I would have been sad and lonely. I spotted Matt in the math resource center so I talked to him. Apparently I'm not the only one with second off. So we talk, Joel shows up and talks to us, and we all decide to go out to Burger King. Joel drives. Very cool. I sat in the back with the crutches.

Wednesday I was suspended, and I basically did all my homework then my mom, who's been looking forward to it for months, goes out and buys soul calibur and in a fit of irresponsibility lets me play too. We also did some errands, returning some stuff at walmart. Overall it was a productive day so I didn't feel too bad about missing school.

Red days (I guess that's what you call them) are my easy days, where I have tok, calc, and drawing. And a break of 2 1/2 hours between first and third periods (including lunch). The other days I have my core classes. Overall, though, this should be an ok year. I'm retaking comp sci sl, apparently (the teacher won't do it hl and i'm too lazy to attempt independent study like nick). So that should be pretty easy. Tok is fun, for me physics is fun, the english should be fun (bess seems cool), and the various electives are fun. History shouldn't be too bad either, Gore is rather entertaining.

Ugh. This WL2 paper is really not working for me. I have no clue what to write about. I'm so gonna die a horrible, horrible death.

Oh, but, I'm making some small progress on the science lab. It's being something of a pain in the ass currently, but I may actually have it done by Tuesday.

Oh, and because I was too lazy to email it, here's my schedule:

1. TOK <Droege>
2. -----
3. Calc <Cavnar>
4. Draw/Paint <Brown>

5. Physics <Fox>
6. Comp Sci <Champion>
7. English <Bess>
8. Cont World <Gore>

I'm putting a counter back on... I dunno. I feel like it. I'll probably just take it off again next time I change the layout. Which will hopefully be soon. *stabs layout*

And now, to bed.
No surgery tomorrow, even though there was an opening at ten, since my mom and I decided that it would be too stressful to remove teethies the friday before school starts. So my wisdom teeth will probably remain intact until June. Hooray for procrastination.

I have no clue what I'm doing tomorrow. At the very least I need to finish Hamlet. Only 40 pages to go! From 205 to 287, or thereabouts. But if the ONLY thing I do is finish hamlet, I will be sad.

I don't want school to start! I want to see my friends, but...

Today contained Donkey Kong 2. Joy. It's actually much more entertaining than I thought it would be. Hooray for snakes! *boing*

I really really really need to start doing school stuff. I never actually got the forms signed for CCAF, so I'm missing 30 hours of volunteer work that I did. No forms equals no credit, pretty much. Damn. And I'm also slacking on the other stuff. I looked at some books for my history IA, but that's about it. I haven't touched my EE. And I still need to finish hamlet and write the WL2 paper. Plus, there's the lab I'm missing from last year. And the comp sci IA, which I kind of did part of last year. But I was hoping to work on it this summer... that didn't happen.

Oh, but, in spite of the lovely little cloud of doom hovering over my head, I am glad to discover I'm not getting suspended. I'll just be serving in-school detention. Which means I get to go in on an off period and do homework. Which means I'm not really doing anything much different than I would have otherwise done. Hooray! And Dr. Lane appears to be convinced that the other children drug me into it, and that I am sweet but stupid and they are the evil ones. So I don't think I'll have problems with her next year.

... I think I left my rubik's cube at nikki's house. Damn. I will have to confirm this at a later date.

Tuesday, August 19, 2003

Hmm... I didn't read anything in Hamlet today. I'm such a slacker.

Tomorrow should be exciting. I will practice for the upcoming release of Soul Calibur II with Nikki. Hooray! Must remember to wake up at a reasonable hour...

On thursday I get to go in for an oral surgery consultation thingy. Joy. If someone's cancelled, I might get to have my wisdom teeth forcibly removed as early as Friday. Else I may have to wait several months.

Much shopping has been going on so I finally have some new clothes. Again, hooray.

It's late. Who knew.

We bought Jak and Daxter, so I was playing that a bit today.

I've finished 100 Years of Solitude (finally) so now all I have to do is read Hamlet and write the essay. That shouldn't be too hard... right??

My grandparents called my mom, and she let me talk to them, and we didn't talk about much. I go, "How are you?" They go, "We're good. We like it here. How's school?" ... Yeah, but after we had kind of run out of things to talk about they ask me how Michael's doing and if I've seen him recently. That makes me laugh. They want pictures for when I see them at Christmas. I'm thinking, "When am I going to get pictures? Do I just randomly bring a camera to school?" Eh, maybe.

I am glad to know that the bunny had an exciting time at her lock in. May she frolic with her fellow bunnies (especially the cute ones) sometime in the near future.

Friday, August 15, 2003

Frolicking was postponed till thursday due to bunny's need for money. Wednesday became work day. But thursday (yesterday) involved much fun antics. Indeed. Soul Edge (must buy soul calibur II... *drool*), DOOL (the shakespeare of soaps, as one red-head once called it), and the joys of MARIO. All hail the stress ball, who changed from Mario to Luigi as he saw fit. Also, pizza, library, chipotle, mandy sightings, stereo, pink hearts, silver-ness, brigades, snowden, church directory, and horribly annoying fish.

Today I had multiple headaches (yuck), played KOTOR, and dug through the basement in search of a rubik's cube. I came up with my old recorder, a ceramic angel (a gift from my grandparents, which I never painted), a postcard from my grandparents, a plastic penguin which used to go on a mechanized slide (penguins are pulled up to the top and then slide down), an eskimo doll from uncle scott, a bunch of plaster chips me and my mom painted, a marble, a baby bear from the "pregnant bear" I got for christmas when I was, like, 5, and the rubik's cube I was searching for. I saw down there and left my girl scout's vest, a bunch of mcdonald's toys, my plastic peoples (what are they called again? they had a name), my magnetic marbles, and a whole bunch of other junk. Good times. Other than the cobwebs everywhere. *shudder*

Alright, a day and a half wait mode is not great, but all's well that ends well. Besides, I had KOTOR to fill my time. KOTOR: for the yoda in all of us. Maybe.

Hooray for Halo, even though it scares me.

Hawaii seems to be a big draw for boys this time of year, or something.

I am proud. Today I read 69 pages in cien años, finished my magnetic lab, fixed up my schedule somewhat, and bought an 8-sided die.

I still need to be braver, but I'm ok. It's nice the way it is. I'm not a leader, and I prefer following. But I'll try to lead, if I can stop being afraid, and maybe it can be even better.

I want to tell you
My head is filled with things to say
When you're here
All those words they seem to slip away

When I get near you
The games begin to drag me down
It's all right
I'll make you maybe next time around

But if I seem to act unkind
It's only me, it's not my mind
That is confusing things

I want to tell you
I feel hung up and I don't know why
I don't mind
I could wait forever, I've got time

Sometimes I wish I knew you well
Then I could speak my mind and tell
Maybe you'd understand

I want to tell you
I feel hung up and I don't know why
I don't mind
I could wait forever, I've got time
I've got time
I've got time

Ah, the joys of lotr. :D And yet I STILL haven't gotten around to reading the third book. Actually, I haven't been reading much of all this summer. Wonder why that is? Hmmm. *looks around furtively*

Swimming can be rather fun. So can talking to people. Sadly, I don't seem to have mastered either one.

Tomorrow may be fun, but that depends on how long I spend in wait mode. If it's the whole day, that won't be fun.

Wednesday leads to schedule changing then frolicking in the park with the fluffy bunnies! Or bunny, as the case may be. And it may involve burritos. Depends on the bunny's temper. If she leaps at me and tries to bite my head off, I don't think I'll give her a burrito. *attempts to stop the blood spurts*

Hooray for ambiguity, but not for small confused frog-like animals, as they may be squished by a certain silver vehicle.

One of life's great mysteries - revealed!

Friday, August 08, 2003

Aaargh... must sleep... but before I do - *puts away kitchen cleaver* Damn. And I was so looking forward to trying it out. *searches for her next victim*
Meh, they canceled our flight! Stupid defective nut! *stabs united airlines* Ah well, the first class flight back made it all worth it. I'd jump for joy if I wasn't so tired, after being awake for almost 20 hours. And in the summer, too! For shame!

The highlights of the trip included:

  • My first bowling game. I scored 96, or something. Hooray. Bumpers can help improve your score mightily.
  • Much shopping. Borders, Nomination, Wizards of the Coast, The Fudgery, and more!
  • Bubbi's birthday. Happy birthday! It's on august 5. Need to remember that...
  • The party on the first day. Many relatives. Chip and Sue, their daughters Elizabeth and Julia, dad's cousin Betsy and her husband Joel, Great Uncle Jimmy and his wife Sharon, two people I didn't actually talk to or find out who they were, and the obligatory Bubbi, Aunt Wendy and company, and Uncle Jon and associates.
  • Changing hotels.
  • Everybody getting mad at Wendy.
  • Cousin Kyle hitting his head on a beam in the basement.
  • The drive down 8 mile road to see my dad's old apartment. Yo. Um, not really.
  • KRISPY KREME ASSEMBLY LINE! Need I say more.

If I think of any more I'll let you know... Or will I? *jarring chords*

Saturday, August 02, 2003

Aieee! Much packing and wandering about the house in search of mp3 players and pedometers and digital cameras. And mom is letting me use her old digital camera on the trip. *jumps for joy* I'll take good care of it! And I won't leave it in the hotel room, where nasty people can steal it. My poor camera.

Sniff. Poor Majic. She was cute. I'm glad I got to meet her.

On a happier note, Megann's birthday is on Monday. Happy birthday. *waves banner*

I continue to be jealous. Dammit, where's that voodoo doll site?

Morrowind becomes an increasingly entertaining waste of my time. :D I am now level 5, and my mum has used the editor to give herself 200 in each stat and various skills. Yeesh.

In one day, he returns, and in two days, I leave. How wonderful. But I should see him the tenth or the eighth... If I don't I may get violent. *picks up kitchen cleaver, glares*

Hooray for Srav and her directions on how to get a parking permit without applying at the beginning of the year.
