odd humor.
And the aleph null song:
Aleph-null bottles of beer on the wall,
Aleph-null bottles of beer.
Take one down, pass it around,
Aleph-null bottles of beer on the wall.

update
I guess I haven't posted in a long time.
Partly, I think it's because I no longer feel the need to write about my life. I'm busy. I don't want to spend my time struggling to write about something meaningful. Writing on this isn't for me anymore. It's just for those who read it... (Though I don't know how many people still do these days.)
It's difficult to think of interesting events in my life, almost. Even though I'm doing lots of stuff, it all starts to blur together.
I had two Japanese tests and my astronomy midterm last week. I'm behind on Japanese. I'm doing alright in most of my other classes, but I'm worried about Programming Languages. Which reminds me, I need to email my professor to ask for the solution to the last assignment.
I have too much email these days. I have to email teachers to figure out syllabi. I need to schedule my next fellows session for 2270. The first one, one person showed up; the second one, no one knew about. I need to figure out a better way to spread the word. I need to email the professor. Bah. More email.
I've been spending more time with Daniel lately, mostly because my room has an odd smell. I discovered mold growing in my closet, and had the landlord send over maintenance to spray bleach. So my room smelled better for a week or two. Now it smells bad again. It may be dirty laundry smell, though.
I made shrinky dinks. You can see them at the Media Art Group blog. I made little heart earrings, which I've quite enjoyed wearing around campus. (Molly complimented them! It was so exciting!) I also made two butterflies, one big, one small. I'm planning on making another pair of earrings, and a bracelet/necklace from a couple other things I made. I could probably make the small butterfly into a necklace too, come to think of it. That'd be cool.
This weekend, a bunch of us went down to do a draft with mom. It was really fun, but we only got to play one round (out of the possible 5). Daniel made roast, and mom made fruit salad and cornbread. 'Twas tasty.
Friday was fun as well. After class I helped Cami with the ATLAS grand opening day. I photoshopped some pictures. After the big horde of people disappeared, I started doing my own picture and photoshopped that. I made a picture of me flying, and a picture underwater. They're the same pose, but I think the "flying" pose worked pretty well as a "swimming" pose too. Afterwards Molly and I went to the new 29th street mall. It opened friday. Boulder now has a Panera. It's totally awesome. We wandered into this pet supply store (mostly toys in the guise of stuffed animals, and hot dog costumes for weiner dogs) and the apple store (we got to play with the ipods). Then we went to Daniel and Cam's place and watched Doctor Who and Battlestar.
And I just got distracted by samorost and various related flash games. Bah, I say! Time for bed. I'm going to be tired tomorrow.

Song
When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
Nor shady cypress tree:
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,
And if thou wilt, forget.
I shall not see the shadows,
I shall not feel the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
Sing on, as if in pain:
And dreaming through the twilight
That doth not rise nor set,
Haply I may remember,
And haply may forget.
-- Christina Rosetti

sara
I've been making quite a few trips to Aurora lately, and every time, I pass by the turn into Sara's old neighborhood. It's been odd, because I just bought a Death Cab for Cutie CD - which reminds me of her, because she was the one who introduced me to Postal Service. And through pure coincidence today, while surfing the net, I came across a profile of her sister, on CouchSurfing.com. Ah well. It's just interesting, because I don't regard her as one of the people I knew very well back in high school, but looking back, I did hang out with her a lot in the summer before college started.
Sometimes you just have to talk about the inconsequential things, when life starts to get overwhelming.
I <3 you, Nikki.

yay for improv
The previous post was an outline of a story written by my dad about 12 years ago. My mom was working on illustrations for it. I think they should publish it. It would be a hit.
I invite you to an exciting evening of improv comedy on June 23:
Clicking that will add the event to your google calendar, if you have one. I don't know what it will do if you don't have one.
For those of you who are scared of the nice, pretty button, I shall tell you a bit about the event in question.
My dad's going to be in an On The Spot show on June 23. It's improv, at the Bovine Metropolis in downtown Denver. The Bovine's website: here. There's an 8:00 show and a 10:15 show. Tickets are $16 for 8:00, $10 for 10:15, if you pay for the 8:00 you can stay for the 10:15 for free. Hooray! The Bovine is located downtown in a cow spotted building on Champa Street, between 15th and 16th. It's right next to the 16th street mall. You know, because 15 is one away from 16. For those who like maps, try this one. Booyah.
Anyway, you should go. Yes, you. Well, maybe not you. And certainly not you.

Jessa and the Meatballs
Jessa is having dinner with her parents. they finish. she isn't. she hasn't eaten anyof them. mom says she can't leave the table until they're all gone. Jessa says they're bad. mom says you haven't even tried them yet. Parents leave, telling her she has to finish them before she's done.
meatballs say pssst after parents leave. offer her wishes if she'll help them escape. meatballs are obviously lying. We'll grant you a wish. Did I say a wish, I meant three wishes. Why, we'll each grant you three wishes. How about a pony? You want a pony? It's your's. Two ponies if you want. Heck, you can have a whole stable of em. "I like dolls" Dolls, why didn't you say so? Dolls are what we do best. Consider it done.
Got a slingshot? I'll go. Jessa loaded the meatball onto the slingshot. The other meatballs watched in anticipation. "Which way?", asked Jessa. "I'd say north", said the meatball. "I'm swedish, you know". Jessa aimed north. She pulled back the slingshot. "Here goes". Jessa let go. Off went the meatball. "Weeeeeeee", said the meatball. "Splat", said the building. The meatballs watched. "Not good." "I liked the WEEEEEEE part". "It's too cold up north". "If meatballs were meant to fly, they'd have wings".
"Got a potty?" Jessa took them to the bathroom upstairs. "Drop me in", said one. she dropped him in. "Here goes", she said. she flushed the potty. "So long", said the meatball. "Whoosh, glug, glug", said the potty. The other meatballs watched. "That would make me dizzy". "Looks cold". "I prefer the mountains to the beaches".
"I could mail you somewhere", said Jessa. "Great", replied the meatballs. Jessa went to her mother's desk and found an envelope. It had a window in the front that she thought the meatballs would enjoy."I've a cousin living in Italy", said the meatball. Jessa wrote "Itally" on the envelope. "How many stamps?", asked Jessa. "It's pretty far", said one. "How many stamps you got?" "20". "Better use em all". Jessa put the meatball in. "Arividerci", said the meatball. Jessa licked the envelope. She closed it. She pressed down hard to seal it. "Smoosh", said the meatball. The others watched. "Looks kinda flat". "I think I'd rather stay in this area". "Who wants to learn a foreign language anyway".
Jessa rolls them int othe street. They roll. They stop. "Hey, I'm not moving", yells the meatball. "Roll me again", says the other meatball. "Vroom", says the car coming down the street. "Smash", say the two meatballs. The others watched.
last one. Jessa says she wants her wish. meatball is mean. I never said anything about wishes. he lies. what are you gonna do about it? she scowls at him. he scowls at her. she gets a look on her face indicating she has an idea. he figures it out. "no wait, let's talk this over, ...". she eats him.
goes back in house. walks into living room. mom asks if she finished all the meatballs. she says yes. mom asks how they were. jessa says terrible, awful, bad.
they tasted pretty good though.

oh, go buy a kanji dictionary
See my l33t kanji game:
Kanjiflies!
It will be updated soon. Very soon. Muahahaha!
I have finished my final paper, self-evaluation, script for the oral exam, and description of extra project(s) (I did three).
Booyah!
Now, to bed, so that I can wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at the wonderful hour of 6 o'clock! Maybe if I set one alarm for 6:00 and the other for 6:30, I'll manage to drag myself out of bed in time to get to the 7:30 exam. Wheeee!

listlessness.
current song: Noir - Sorrow
So I was reading Jude's xanga this morning, and I noticed a comment by Sarah mentioning a question. So I went to Sarah's xanga, and I found the question.
That's a really awesome question.
At any rate, for those Colorado students that want to rat out their pothead friends for a bit of money:
Farrand Field 4-20-2006
I don't see anyone I recognize; no monies for me. And, yes, there are two pages - 200 photos.
I didn't finish my final project for CompAsComp; I haven't finished any of the missing assignments for Japanese. I don't feel very good about myself right now...
I started reading Nikki's livejournal this morning, because I haven't read anyone's weblogs in months, and I feel like a rotten friend... I should be there for her more. Oh well. Maybe the summer will be better. I want to drive up to Greeley after finals. And hang out. Maybe on Thursday?

hello again
This morning, on the net, I think I found the Japanese equivalent of "lol".
爆笑 -> ばくしょう -> bakushou
It means "burst of laughter."
It was used thusly:
"I haven't finished moving my page over, but since I have about 240 pages to rewrite, please wait patiently (burst of laughter)."
So, I have a lot of work to do, and very little time. My Computers As Components final project is due tomorrow, along with a "presentation" of some sorts. I have to finish my final project for Japanese, which consists of writing 800 characters, half of that being a summary of the story I read, and the other half being my "reaction" to the story. I have no idea what to write. On Friday I need to give a presentation on this, preferably using powerpoint (which I don't have). The final paper is due Wednesday, however. So... kind of okay. Mastering Physics (the last one) is due tomorrow night at eleven.
It doesn't help that I'm missing a lot of assignments for Japanese. I just never got around to doing them... So, for Friday, I wanted to write a rough draft of the final paper, and an essay about something controversial (but hopefully easy to express in Japanese), and do two of the four missing Kanji Worksheets (each of which take several hours to complete). Oh joy.
I probably should have stayed home last night instead of going to Game Dev... but alas. I'm... folliful. Or something.
I'm surprised that several people still check this on a regular basis, regardless of the fact that I haven't updated in two and a half months. Hooray! I feel loved.
Oh, also, I think this shirt is cool.
Off to make a roast beef sandwich for lunch, before I (dis?)embark for physics FCQ day. Oh goody, sitting in class filling out forms on how well the teacher did this semester! Actually, he did quite well, but I stillhate was annoyed by the class the massive amounts of homework.
Hey, look, I learned how to do strikethrough text! For a really lame reason!
Ok, ok, I'm going. Yeesh, I'm gonna be late for school...

Comments?!
I thought no one read my blog or posted comments anymore, when in reality Blogger had been hiding them from me! Bad Blogger! <whap> There, it should behave itself now.
Chaffin, I'm glad you like the baby counter. Our role-playing group does mostly white wolf stuff. Currently we're in the middle of a Dark Ages changing breeds campaign. That is to say, we're playing in the time setting of the middle ages, and we're all were-creatures. I'm a weredragon, Jesse is a werebear, Stephen is a wereraven, Kenneth is a werecheetah, Cam is a wererat, and Daniel is the DM. The last few sessions have included Ken ripping apart a stewman, who albeit creepy seemed mostly harmless (an emphasis on seem here), then attacking Cam while his back was turned and hence our kitty friend became two friends, head and torso. The next session we brought him back to life, but, uh, that might have been a horrible idea. Ah well. Last week Jesse and Kenneth couldn't play so instead we had our game of four hour mini-Assassin (look up Assassin on Wikipedia). And this week Kenneth may be gone again, and Cam will be up in the mountains with his parents, so we are going to play Rifts instead. With Jude! How exciting. Then the weekend after that is another Assassin day.
Yes, dad, I really did eat brie thinking it was custard pie.
Nikki, I too am looking forward to Kingdom Hearts 2 and think that playing it together would be awesome.
As for the party. No, I did not end up throwing one. Partially because I didn't see anyone respond to the post (oh, silly me) but also because, well, it's one of those things. Instead I spent New Year's Day with my parents and Daniel, vegging out and playing Soul Calibur, mostly. I think that was a good thing. I also think that maybe summer would be a better time, if I do decide I want to hang out with kiddoes from high school. But, I don't know. I'm not really close to many people anymore anyways. I think the only people I have any connection with anymore are Chaffin and Shivani (you know, the blog thing), Eric (who occasionally IMs me to ask if I'm playing WoW - which reminds me, must make an alliance character on Warsong), Vicki (who has IMed me a couple times), Sarah and Amy ('cause, y'know, they go here), Srav (who sends me occasional emails), and... ummm... Ah, well I do run into Aaron and "Screech" in the engineering center reasonably often (I'm actually in a class right now with Aaron). That seems like quite a mish-mash. But whatever. Mostly, I just don't have the motivation to organize an event I'm not really anticipating being fun.
"And sometimes, when I think about hanging out with someone, I get tired. I don't want to have to explain my life to people that aren't in it anymore."
That goes for me as well, I'd say. But alas.
And, well, I'll keep in mind that you don't want posts about my teachers being on facebook that are two lines long. Thanks for letting me know about all the hidden comments.
Eh, yes, off to take my shower, which is what I really should be doing right now. Dang you, Blogger! Quit distracting me!

dvorak
I'm currently typing in Dvorak. It's... interesting. And slow. Very slow.
Not much has happened lately. On Saturday I participated in the game of "Assassin." This included an enjoyable amount of stalking Travis, having my throat slit with a plastic spoon, engaging in an honorable paper tube battle with Steven, and hiding out in Duane for ten minutes with a bag of sand.
I've also found the time to cut out a bunch of squares of paper, label them with letters, and tape them onto my keyboard. And voila, a Dvorak keyboard! Here is a picture:
Oif, it's hard to type on. Even when I look at my hands...
Though I've discovered that trying to do ctrl-c is really difficult now without Dvorak turned on.
Yes! I typed the entire entry without switching to qwerty! And yes, that is part of the reason why this entry was so short.

I just wrote up how to write a "Hello World" C++ program. In Japanese.
I'm tired. That took way too long.

ECEN 2120
